Wow - super sharp. Have you got a colour version. There seem to be 3 light catches in the birds eye - what caused that?

I would guess it's from the artificial lighting. I had 3 500 watt lights set up or maybe just over sharpened in PS. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I went back and looked at the raw file and 3 catch lights are there. Must have been the artificial lighting.

When I viewd this last night on my laptop, the screen did not do it justice...Today on the 20inch Apple...Amazing! I like this shot...the 3 little sparkles in the eye are a minor issue that can be fix in PS. Nice work Zip!

I love my 85 1.8 as well, but how do you get so close? I have trouble getting close enough with my larger lenses....

Nice rendition of the Jay.......but wait a second...three 500 watt lights...and then you invited the jay to pose in the studio? I like it but I would like to know more about how this shot was set up and taken...

Thanks Keith! I'm still not sure about this one. For some reason I keep going back to it.

Thanks Sam! I didn't much care for the colored shot, B&W seems to work better on this one.

I sit in a blind with only the little lens sticking out. This shot was at about 3 feet.

Thanks Gary! Just setup the studio lighting, backdrop and all that stuff. Then make a call to "Love To Be A Jay" modeling agency". After the shoot pay the model in peanuts. All there is to it.
