Anybody dismantled their Ixus/Ixy? Is it completely impossible?
I have an Ixus 400, which is stuck in auto mode. It works apart from that, but it would be nice to have some control over the settings, and use the video clip function.
The mode dial turns, and feels just like a working one (compared it to another Ixus 400, and an Ixy500 and they feel identical), so I'm wondering if I should crack open the case and have a look to see if a connector has come lose/if it's anything obvious that I can sort.
Has anyone opened up their Ixus at all and can give me some hints/tips/guidance (apart from "don't do it" ), or does anyone know of a webpage with instructions, or a schematic of the camera or similar?
Camera. Lenses. Bags. CF. But most importantly, the PoTN Strap

It could be a simple software crash. Try resetting the camera first (follow the manual). If still doesn't work after that, try reinstalling the latest firmware for that camera (you'll find it on the net). Good luck!
