I really like the third one in B&W. Both owner and pet smiles are so genuine and their gaze at you is great. Awesome.

#1 and 3 are a bit too large for screen viewing. Try to resize them down to 800 pixels on the longest side. Even 600 would be fine.
Generally when photographing people, it's better to be further away. Zoom the lens to 55mm and back up a little. You'll get a more pleasing perspective. I do like the perspective in #2 though.

I like 2 and 3, it's hard to say anything about 1 because the whole thing doesn't fit on my monitor, nice work overall

Thanks so much
The human in the pic likes the 2nd shot the best (she likes to think she is the wistful type hehe).... I think I agree based on not being such a close up, but for openess and capturing the personalities of both human and pooch... number 3 is the one I like best. I'll resize number 1 a bit later and repost.... got kennels to clean out now. |

Hey Cordy,
Third one is great. DOF is good, both nicely in focus. 2nd is good, but I think you needed to be further back so P's arm isn't cut off. Being further back also would have made it seem a more intimate shot IMO, in that they are together, alone. Being close can bring the photographer in as part of the scene, and I think that shot would work better further back. I'd clone out the hotspot on the right side of her head too and I wonder how it'd look in B&W? Nat |

Your #2 in B/W is great, also like the B/W #3.
I believe it's the blue hair that distracts me......It's the first thing I notice in the color photos.
