Default Vertical Banding in S2 IS

I love my S2 IS but I've been noticing vertical banding in the sky in many images. It is especially noticable in slightly overexposed images but present in most images with a lot of sky. Have others noticed this? Is there any way to correct this?

You can see the banding in the upper left portion of the image.

sensor cleaning? maybe

is the lens possibly streaked from the last time you cleaned it. Have you cleaned it in a while? Have all of the pictures that you have taken since you've had this camera had these bands?
