Hello All, I just purchase my new G3 from circuit city a few hours ago. As soon as I open the box and put in the battery and turn it on, there is a continuous intermittent squirking sound. The sound appears to be coming from the front part (perhaps the zoom lens area).
At first I thought it was normal, but I soon think that maybe its not ... Could someone tell me if this is normal, or am I getting a defective unit? Please let me know ASAP, as I one to exchange to a different one if it is malfunctioning. Thanks! |

Did you put the CF card in too?
Lens cap off? Perhaps you have autofocus set to continuous and wherever you move the camera it refocuses. There are many things that can make small sounds that are just fine. I don't know how much you know about cameras, but before you feak out, follow all the manual set up instructions, make some test photos and then decide if something isn't ok.

John,
That did the trick. Apparently I had the AutoFocus set to continuous. Thanks for your help. |
