Default Awards Banquest

I'm attending an awards banquet tonight and want to take some pictures with my 20D/24-70 2.8L/580EX. It is an informal event so I will be able to get very close to the subjects...what would be some ideal settings for taking some group and individual pictures. BTW...the event is inside.

Thanks,

Gary

I would say, try a few shots in Manual Mode, ISO=400, Tv=200, Av=f/4-f/5.6, with the 580EX pointed directly at subject. If it seems a little underexposed or overexposed, then adjust the exposure compensation on the 580EX. Also, shoot in RAW... great way to save that one photo that's a little "off-color" due to incorrect white balancing. If the ceiling is low, then you can try indirect flash.
