Default Two Wedding Weekend - Part 2

All of these are with the 17-55 on my 20D except for one. Can you tell which one doesn't belong? (not trying to be silly - I'm still deciding on the 17-55).

I'll give a hint, the non 17-55 one came from my 70-200L.

Good work. Love the church shot, and the bride shot. I'd like to see more of her face in #1. Church doesn't seem exactly straight. Bridge with 70-200? I like 'em

Any more thoughts on the 17-55 IS instead of the 24-70L? I'm still undecided.

These are fantastics. I guess also bridge is 70-200. Love the last one. This is the level that I want to get for my pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Great photos, and very encouraging results from the 17-55 IS ...FstopJoJo commented on it being more prone to flare - have you found any problems with this?

The 70-200 shot - I think it might be 3, looks like you're shooting from a higher vantage point, and the catchlights in the lad's eyes are small - so I'm assuming you're not as close as you would be shooting 55mm. The bridge shot does have a different look to it, but then it's outside in colour and against the light.

Those of you who guessed the bridge are absolutely right.

Luis, you are too kind. I've seen your photos, and can't see why you'd think mine are at a different level...but thank you anyway.

Rob, I was thinking folks might pick #3, since to my eyes, it exhibits "L" like sharpness and color. Interesting you should mention flare. On Sundays wedding the bride wanted shots of her with her grandparents while we were all at the church (so they didn't have to walk very far). Well it was late mid-day and the sun was super strong, so there was really no good place to go. We ended up at a park across the street with the just starting to set sun right behind the groups (i.e. I was shooting into it). Considering the circumstances I think the lens resisted flare really well, with only the last few shots displaying the tiniest spots in an area of the photo that will be easy to PS. The lens also held its contrast surprisingly well. I should probably point out that I was using the EW 83BII hood that is for the 24L (but fits the 17-55, just like it did my 17-40).

Guess I'm too late to guess. I love the b&w church shot, but they are all beautiful.

Great to hear this, many thanks - we'll be getting one of these 17-55 IS f2.8 ourselves just as soon as UK prices drop a bit more.

Beautiful. I don't like the brightness from the stained glass window in #4, but other than that, perfect!
