Hello all,

First I'd like to say that this forum is great - full of knowledgeable people willing to help and tons of useful searchable info. Thanks to everyone participating in and maintaining this excellent forum.

I've recently obtained a G3 with a bag of goodies to replace my old Sony FD91 (from 97, floppy drive) - Sony wasn't bad for its time despite its limitations. It has served me well and I've taken what I thought were great shots with it. Till I tried the G3. What a wonderful buy! And, it's pushing me well beyond "amateur" vacation photography. I've already learned about hyperfocus distance, circle of confusion, bokeh, depth of field, approaches to digital workflow; that's just a tip of a huge iceberg, I bet.

I participate in quite a few other pc/network/xbox/tivo related forums, most of these support a feature to "sticky" an important thread or faq list at the top of a forum thread list which I find most useful. It keeps "valid" but answered a 100 times before questions from cluttering up the boards.

What you are taking about is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). Yeah, I suggested this in a previous post. Autofocus, macro focus, which lensmate adapter to buy, which compact flash card, dead pixels, and various G3 noises seem to be regular questions on these pages.

Hey moderators, are you listening? I am willing to help out in writing a FAQ if you will put it up and let people know. I am sure there are much more active members on this board who will be a treasure trove of good information for the FAQ as well.

Any takers?
