Default ZoomBrowser EX

My ZoomBrowser EX software program tells me that I have three corrupted image files on my CANON Digital IXUS S100 camera. The ZoomBrowser program will not allow me to delete the corrupted images. Does anyone know how to delete these corrupted images?

I have an s30 but i suppose it has same most common features as your s100. Have you tried to delete damaged pictures using cameras own controls, or how about formatting the whole CF -card ?

I have an S20 with Zoombrowser Ex 2.1, Photostitch 3.1 and USB Twain driver 3.1 running on Win 2000 Pro.
I have just upgraded to Win XP Pro and now see all these internet messages about XP corrupting the EXIF information. I have not dared to reload up my pictures, databases and camera reading software yet!

1 - Does anyone know if it really safe (or is compatible) to load these drivers and software versions up on XP?

2 - Should I be upgrading to later versions of Zoombrowser EX (and the others)?

I could not find much about upgrading old stuff on the Canon site and their warning about XP compatibility is very confusing and not stated very clearly.

I use Win XP Pro on my laptop without any problems with ZoomBrowser 4.0, so I suppose it's best to use the latest version.

PeterS45:

After dl to my computer using ZoomBrowzer 4.02, I was able to upload still images back to the cf card, but I cannot upload video clips. The error message says I have altered the file. Do you have this problem? By the way, I use XP Home.

Hi KS,

Not being able to upload AVI-files is not an XP-problem. It states in the manual that it's not possible to upload both RAW and AVI-files.

But my camera came with a manual for the camera and not for Zoombrowser, and I found that manual at http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/.../ZBEX_V410.pdf

Regards.

I guess the main disappointment is with the failure to load video and altered jpegs back to the camera - surely others would like to do this. Pity that canon has not seen fit to get zoombrowser to include this ability. Link to the users manual pdf was nice, thankyou.

Just to update those who saw my first message -
I have since upgraded my Zoombrowser to the ZB EX Ver 4.0 as suggested by Canon. I still run Win XP Pro and still have the "old" S20.
Although Canon have changed ZB operation to improve it, I think there are still incompatabilities with XP in the file header info that describe the Photos.
It does the rotate differently by creating a copy of the photo (rotated) with the same Canon header data.
I still avoid having WinXP manipulate the photos as the Canon data seems to get altered/lost in the process.

Has anyone got similar experiences or better info on what is really going on with the associated header info?

Regards, Geoff.

You can download and install the latest update without your original discs straight from the Canon website.
