Actually, you have stumbled onto Canon's big surprise announcment:

Now that full-frame is fully conquered, Canon will challenge the medium-format world with this camera. You grab both grips and pull, and - Voila! - it stretches to 6x6

I wouldn't mind the size so much as the weight. That'd be a good pound or so added on. They're already about 2.5 lbs. We don't need more weight.
