You got some nice shots. I was just there last week, but at that time the clean up crew was out and there was a man in the water cleaning it out. And there were soldiers everywhere touring. I didn't want to put their pictures on the net, so I didn't take many. But that is memorial is just beautiful, so majestic and thoughtful. I have been very impressed with all the war memorials. I almost cried at the Vietnam War Memorial. There was a family doing a name rubbing and it was very touching.

#3 is great. #4 looks a little oversharpened. I like the second one as well - something about the color and stars really draws me in.

Thanks all. I know what you mean Suzy, I visited them all in a day - unfortunately a whistle-stop tour of some but I managed to spend quite a while at this one - it was late afternoon and the light/weather was great. I have some of the Vietnam and the Korea ones I will post too later.

Stacie - thanks - funnily enough none of them are sharpened at all (other than default setting in RSP) its prob because of the frozen waterfall due to high shutter speed.

Bluedog - I like that one too - great perspective from the Toki 12-24!

Good series, and your VN Memorial, as well. These are all special places that touch our hearts.

I particularly like the first two. I should like to know whether the number of stars on the memorial has a significance.

Balliolman - I think I can recall correctly that there are 4500 stars representing the 450,000 Americans killed/wounded (? not sure here - not meaning to offend!) in WWII

Killed. Just been checking the figures online which vary wildy but adding the figure for the wounded would bring it up to between 600,000 and 1million. Taking the figures for total casulaties as a percentage of population is frightening :-

UK: 0.9%
USA: 0.3%
USSR: 13%
Germany: 10%

Thanks John. I must admit that wondering around here gave me some great chances to play with perspective on the 12-24 - and I like the result here too.
