Talking Product shot (cell phone)

Think I'm getting better then from before. But I posting this here to find out what you all think of this photo. I did swipe the logo from the website to make this more authentic. What do you think?

I'm looking. I did some today for the first time too. Your pics are lit well and sharp enough but look flat. Could be my monitor, the blacks not looking black enough.

Well how's this? I tryed to burn it a tad...is it too much?

I did over expose a bit to keep the bg white. So maybe that's why it's not appearing as black.

Thanks

Better here. What we need is more viewer comments, cause this monitor here is a loaner.

Here is one of my shots from this afternoon. How does it look on your monitor?

I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, but maybe too black? lol if it was a tad bit lightened, maybe catch some more detail on the record. I guess it depends on what your intentions are.

I like the old style red and cream colored BG, gives that real true old time look

Carzee: your shot is too black, needs to be a bit lighter so we can see the detail.

There are all kinds of weird erasure marks and light gradients in the first that make it look like a cut and paste job. Gradients can be used in the background, but you want it consistant in the image, so either add it later in post, or shoot everything together. I like to use bit of shadow, but in this it doesn't help at all. I would avoid overexposing the background, as this will soften the edges and unless the BG is totally overexposed, the transitions won't print well. Here are a couple of images to look at for reference:

Gradient used to highlight detail in the pump spout.

Slight shadow, but doesn't detract from subject.

Another with a shadow (++), but also has me in the reflection (--)!

BG too bright (not blown, though) resulting in soft edges.
