I know that the stuff on the right in the background is a bit distracting. Other comments?

Todd
I'm pleased to see such a lovely portrait, especially taken with a pro90, seeing I've just bought one ! Magenta seems to be the color at the moment. My personal choice would be for the portrait without the right arm and hand. The hand, being in direct sunlight has a higher light value than the little girl's face, yet for me, the face is most important. Lovely though. eland |

I love what light does to these natural blondes! I have a grand-daughter I pick on all the time.
If the very top of her head was in the sun like her left shoulder; bingo! Watch the hair come alive! Very nice shot. I never even saw the stuff in the background; she steals the show. |

OOPS and ELAND have given you expert advice. Your photo is soft and fragile.
Pursuing their advice might trigger a few comparison shots in vertical mode. They might require a bit more fleece to balance the frame. Of course then you have to decide what to do with arms and hands. Actually, I am just talking. Every time we post portraits I "remind" myself to go to the library and study the photos of Yousef Karsh, Canada's foremost portrait photographer. A sample are posted at: http://www.sackville.ednet.ns.ca/art...ography/karsh/ Maybe next week !. HOWIE |

HOWIE,
Thank you for the post! I actually think I like looking at the Masters more than taking pictures, if that were possible. |
