Man I told you before but I LOVE that B/W pen shot, and I always dig your B/W conversions.

The 2nd shot is nice and sharp and interesting in an abstract way, I'd like to see it with a totally white background, very high key like.

The raspberry shot is cool, I'd almost like to see it cropped along the water line and just have it be abstract against the bright background.

Good eye buddy, very creative.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Personally I like the tonal transition on the second shot - I wouldn't change it at all!

I'll apologise in advance, though, as the raspberry does nothing for me

Dorman and Paul: Thanks for the positive feedback on the pen shot. I'm really getting a lot of great remarks on that one. And truthfully, it was one of my harder compositions. So thank you.

The second shot came out almost metallic. Those water droplets were taken with a close-up lens. I was pleased with the abstract result.

Metallic would be the word to describe it, like drops of liquid steel or something.

Okay, let's go backwards...

The Raspberries don't work for me either. I like the idea, but I'm just not a fan of the shot.

The droplets are very cool. As Paul says, the tonal transition (gradient) is awesome. It does look like metal droplets.

The pen... wow! It's just an amazing shot, without question. The crop, the tone, the focus, it's both a technically perfect shot and simplistically beautiful.
