Default Bristol, WI Renaissance Faire '06 - What a blast!

What an awesome day it was. Perfect weather, met a lot of great people, and even managed to take a few interesting pictures!

By my count there were seven POTNers there. We also bumped into a few other Canon shooters and had fun talking about photography and told them about this forum.

I'm very grateful to Big John for bringing his friend Tom H. Tom is director of Photography for a local hospital and former photojournalist. He's been a full-time pro shooter for better than 15 years and loves to talk about photography with all the enthusiasm of someone who just bought his first camera. I enjoyed talking with Tom and learned a great deal just watching him work! I do hope Tom joins POTN and contributes to the discussions here.

We didn't stay together much, and never got a shot of the whole group, so this will have to suffice. Aaron is one of the people who hadn't heard of POTN before. In addition to those in the picture, Big H (Harry), drparker (Drew) and RuggerJoe (Joe) were in attendance. Maybe there were more that we just never ran into?

Anyway, it was great meeting all of you. We'll have to get together again soon!

A few of my shots from the Faire are in this thread and this thread.

It was really great meeting everyone. I had loads of fun. I shot over 600 frames, it will take me a while to go through them, but I have posted a few to start.

I look forward to meeting the POTN photographers again in the future.

Looking at that shot, all I can think is, "How mundane of you all!" (second from right - handed someone else he camera).

Mundane perhaps, but Jon, if you look closely at my pose in that shot you might be able to speculate that my wearing a kilt would have had a negative effect on image quality.

As for the ladies in your shot, well they obviously don't know how to dress for a Ren Faire. There isn't a bit of cleavage showing!

Does anyone remeber the name of the site the guy we ran into by the big stage near the end with the 5D and 100-400 L told us about?
