Default Raynox HD-4500PRO experience

Anyone have experience w/this lens? I have the DCR 720 which supposedly gives me a .72 vs a .45 aspect for the hd 4500pro. I'm looking for something w/more of a fisheye aspect and this would seem to fit the bill quite nicely.

If not the above - do you guys have any other recommendations?

Thanks

Rex

You sure are up on your lingo for a G3 neophyte. I don't even know what you are talking about without googling a few of your words. And I thought I knew about photography and G3 accessories....

Don't be deceived - I am still very much the neophyte!

I got the DCR720 w/my lensmate and was pleased if not impressed by the results. I was hoping for a little more distortion. My quest then led me to a couple of sites that seem to have a good array of Raynox lenses

www.adorama.com (submit "raynox" in the search field)and http://www.bugeyedigital.com/product...re_lenses.html

It's not clear whether these lenses will work w/the G3 or not - although I don't see why they wouldn't.

I purchased the .66 HD-6600 pro from somewhere other than adorama, but can't remember where off the top of my head. Adoramas prices are much better, but I needed this thing in a hurry, and they couldn't deliver it fast enough.

The 6600 pro is a great wide angle, with very little barrel distortion. Usually this is a good thing, but it sounds like you want a lot of distortion. A "fish eye" conversion lens is pretty inexpensive for the G3, and the glass won't matter as much since the image compression is so great (as opposed to magnification of a telephoto lens, where the glass quality is crucial). I'd try one of the cheaper brands like phoenix or digital optics. Glass is still pretty good, and below $100 is nice.
