Well I only had the chance to take about 20 picks total and this was my 1st time trying to pan but a few of them came out decent.. Let me know what you think..
The boats sit soo low and the motors are so heavy that if they eventully sit for too long they have a chance of sinking! $250K boat sunk! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The last boat ran 231 mph! in the quarter!

I was shooting 1/320 for most of the shots I believe. Its amazing how fast a boat can get up and go!

Last one is great!
Looks like it would take a few goes to get used to panning them. |

Yeah it was tough. For one you only have about 1/8th mile to take picks and the fast boats a few and far between. Literally like 6 boats run 3 times a day so 18 runs over a 8 hour day and its 6 seconds a run..
I got to see 3 runs the 1st was at 1/125 and they came out blurry second 2 are the ones you see above.

for a first attempt there realy good what shutter speed did you use??
did you run in manual mode?? the last one could do with some saturation to give the flames and nice orange colour (look a bit swashed out at the mo) jmho |

all the above pics were shot at 1/320. After I got them home I realised that I was shooting at iso 1600 DOH!
A bit more contrast ![]()

I think that looks a lot nice you can see its droped the 5th for 1600 they are very clear. i normaly shoot 1/250 for tf drags that are a bit faster might be worth pushing it a bit slower just a thought apart from that nice I like the way they sink lol would love to have a go
