Default Tamron 17-35mm + 28-75mm vs. Tamron 17~70mm or 17~50mm

I have Tamron 17-35mm and 28~75. I'm pretty happy with both of them. The 28~75 is send back for calibration for focusing problem, but if MF, it is very sharp. Now, as far as IQ is concerned, is 17~70mm or 17~50mm as sharp? I am thinking about replace the 2 lens with a single one because it is easier not to swap lens.

The 17-50 is a very sharp lens...rivals the Canon 17-55. Pretty evenly divide the MTF performance according to photozone. Just remember the 17-50 won't give you the 50-75 range, if you're carrying only one lens (the 17-50)! I wish there was a Tamron 17-85 f/2.8 as a choice!

I have the same lenses and am thinking about selling both for a Tokina 16-50 when it comes out if it's a good lens.

I think the 17-50 has a bit more CA and more light falloff, if I remeber correctly, the build quality is same though.

Photozoned has tested all excep the 17-35, Klaus removed it for some reason.
