I do, but I use a Mac Mini Core Duo with a 19" Samsung for my photo work. The iMac I have is a G5. If you're considering buying a new iMac, you might want to wait a month or so. With the release of Intel's Core 2 Duo chips, there's likely to be a refresh of the iMac and Mac Mini lines. Regardless, get 2 gb of RAM if you can afford it.

I have been a Mac user since 1989. Currentyl I use my 17" G4 laptop at home, but in my classroom I use a 17" iMac G5 - I love it. Go for the 20 though, and add an Eizo monitor for proofing.

im eyeing the imacs as well, but was advised by the mnager at the apple centre that if i can wait, I should. Apparently CS2 now runs on the rosetta program, which slows it down considerably, his suggestion is to wait until mac/adobe play catch up and have a universal version of CS2 (which is my 'main' program).

Im not a techie myself, but have been told this by few other 'design' friends (read: mac geeks) as well.

CS3 should be arriving next year. It will be able to tell which platform is being run (on the new DualCores) and will launch that respective version of say, photoshop, or Illustrator. I would hold out for CS3 and a Dual Core.

I don't have CS2, but CS runs just as fast, if not a tad faster, under Rosetta on my Core Duo Mac Mini than it does on my iMac G5. The difference in speed is negligilbe. I wouldn't worry too much about it. But CS3 is supposed to be out early next year.

Yes, the "Mighty Mouse" sure is clunky. I have a $14 Labtech two-button opitcal scroll mouse for my Mac Mini. You'd think Apple would "get it".

Yup, have got a powerbook lappy which i've had for a few years now and an imac 20". love em both dearly and wouldn't use anything else. Yeah ps works on rosetta, but it is still not that slow that it is annoying or anything. I would'nt wait if you want need one. When adobe catches up it catches up, but you're not missing anything in the meantime. and oh the bliss of using an easy and intuitive OS that never crashes or has virus issues. I have never had a virus software on any of them and never had a virus. touch wood it never happens either with both of them

Imac 20" at the office. Will be great once CS3 is released. had absolute heck with CS2 when I first got the IMAC and had to purchase a new version of Final Cut HD Bridge is still a problem even with the "fix" and the mac os updates, etc.
