Went along to see the Le Mans series at dinnington park today. Those cars are seriously loud, not far off the noise of an F1 car.
here are a few shots from the ones i have sorted so far. will post some more up once they are all processed. coomets and critique welcome ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice but I think you had the shutter speed too fast. The cars look almost static

Nice shots. I really wish they would combine the two series like F1 and just run both sets of cars all around the world. That way they would have bigger fields of the more exotic cars. The support races could be from local or regional teams. Anyway... love the cars and pictures of them no matter where they run.... as far as noise.... you all need to go to a NASCAR race... it is a noise fest. cheers.

i'd have to agree that the shutter speed was too fast. where's the shots of the audis? they aren't nearly as loud.

Good stuff mate, nice and sharp. what body/lens were you using?
Have to agree with the shutter speed though, but don't worry too much. Also what is in the background of your photos can be distracting and sometimes spoil shots - choose your shooting spots carefully so you don't have the word "SAUSAGE" in 10 foot high letters behind the cars! It's never easy though when you are shooting from the wrong side of the fence, so you have my sympathy and something that you can't always get around. cbock - the Audi R10 diseasels aren't running in the Le Mans Series (in Europe) but they are in the ALMS though.

Wouldn't say I'm not a fan, no. What Audi have done in sportscar racing is nothing short of awesome. The R8 was an immense car and pushed the boundaries.
The R10 no doubt will do the same thing, and I am sure we'll see a similar pattern emerge and it will be all conquering like the R8s. However, they do have what appears to be an almost unlimited budget so you would expect it to crush everyone else. Sorry for the hijack antc

i was using my 350d and 100-400 L. agreed with all you guys about the shutter speed although the first 2 i posted my intention was to freeze frame them. i will be posting up some more shortly of ones i took with slower shutter speed thus blurring the wheels and backgrounds as i panned them.

Hi guys,
I had a great day out at the Le Mans Series event held at Donington today. Been to this event in previous years at Silverstone but it certainly made a change to see the stunning prototypes on the limit around Donington. As usual I took loads of photos which I am working through slowly. Please click the link below to see the first selection. www.dunlopix.com/page32.html Regards Tim |

Awesome pictures, it looks like I was probably standing a few feet away from you although with the fences at Donington thats not that surprising. I started shooting at the start of the start/finish straight as the cars came around Goddards before moving around to the esses and trying about 3 different angles before finishing off at Melbourne.
I'll post a selection tomorrow. |
