Default Minor League Baseball...

I was at a game recently and unfortunately the sun had LONG gone down and the game ended up in extra innings... As we were getting ready to call it a night, I was up near the concessions and decided.. one more time, I'd pull my camera out and try to get something meaningful. Since my 70-200 is only an f/4 model.. I did have to bump the iso up a little to get a decent shutter speed. But I did manage to capture the ball leaving the bat of Manny Mayorson which turned out to be the RBI single to win the game in extra innings. I was pretty shocked and happy to have captured this even though the technicals could be so much better.

EXIF - Everything manual (ISO=1600 T=1/400 A=f/4)

Nice shot. I was trying to take shots like that at the Baseball game here last night, and realized it's really hard to do.

Thanks... yeah, it's hard. What I did was use my left eye to frame the batter and use my right eye to watch the pitcher. When he would throw the ball.. I'd time it and let off a few shots in a burst.
