Canon Pixma iP4200 - magenta color cast and misalignment

hello, I am new and apologize if this has been asked already.
I just got the 4200 printer and have some issues on my test prints using the sample Canon Photo Paper Plus in glossy. First of all, the images are slightly too red and I dont understand enough about how to do color management via printer to fix this. My monitor is calibrated the best I could with Adobe Gamma, but I do have a Dell laptop so the screen angles change. The image looks how I want on the monitor though. Not only am I getting this bit of color cast, but they are a bit lighter than they should be, I have to darken the image to make it print to the levels I want. ALSO, the lines are a bit shifted. I went through automatic and manual print head alignment and their tests "pass", but I know my prints are printing oh-so-slightly crooked, I can see it when I print with borders. I am fairly experienced with processing images in photoshop but am new to printing. I don't intend to do tons of photo printing but would like to do it on occasion. Help!

what are you selecting under color options? i had this same problem too - i had to play with it and select differnt profiles - it seems to be ok now.
