Default Panorama nodel point G3

Hi, As the cameras trypod thread is not in line with the lens how do you ger around finding the "nodal point".

Im interested in taking this type of photo, and I know the camera came with software to stitch pictures together and I will be trying it as soon as the weather permits ( England !).

Is this good enough or would it be better to get yet more gear?

Thanks

To get the hang of things, try it out inside first.. Do a panorama of a room, and then stitch it together. Also, do a Quicktime VR panorama with the same photos (very handy for estate agents).

I have done reasonable indoor shots using the camera and tripod as it is. The pic below is a full 360x360 view inside a church, there is a 360 virtual tour http://www.btinternet.com/~i.c.palmer/360ch.htm

I want to improve and am currently welding a bracket to get the camera as near to the nodal point as possible

Finding the nodal point for cameras like ours is not nearly as important as some people think. You can take perfectly good panoramas by holding the camera steady and turning your body, as I did this one and others. As long as your important subject matter is farther away than 8 - 10 feet or so, I wouldn't worry about it.
