Default 30D rattling sound?

I just got my replacement 30D (long story short - theft) and have noticed that there's a rattling sound when I tilt the camera left and right on its upright position, then I went on to discover that it's the on-board flash that's making the noise because when I pop it up the rattling sound is gone.

I can't remember hearing the same sound from my 1st 30D so I'm a bit annoyed by it and just wanted to see if anyone else' camera has the same sound...

Thanks guys.

Hey!

Sorry to hear about the camera getting stolen.
My 30D doent seem to rattle very much at all when I shake it around. I only hear a very faint sound, which comes from the built in flash. How loud is the sound you are hearing?

Michael

I know... darn thieves. urgh!

It's not LOUD, per se, but it's audible in a somewhat quiet room.

Like I said, the only reason I can hear it is because I don't remember hearing it from my own 30D so I noticed it RIGHT away when I was moving around with it.

I guess some are made with slightly higher precision or something?

That would be the soft 'click' that the orientation sensor makes every time you turn around the camera.
It needs to do that to determine whether you are shooting portrait or landscape - it's perfectly normal.

Hope that puts you to ease
Now go out and take some pictures!

Best regards,
Andy
