I have just read on a reputable photograhic supplier website that they are to increase their price of Canon lenses by 10% on the 1st Jan 2004. Does anyone know if Canon UK are increasing their prices, or is this just a one off? Here in the UK we are already being ripped off with sky high prices, and cound well do without any further price rises. I am currently looking for a 70~200 f4 L - and in the UK the cheapest I can source at the moment is around £540 GBP, but the average high street price is £699 !! A 10 % increase for me would mean paying anywhere between £55 & £70 more for the lens IF I wait until the new year.
