Default Photo Montage Software

I am looking for some photo montage software. I want to be able to make a photo montage like where you take 100s of tiny photos to create one large image. What would you guys recommend, and are there any free trials?

I think you want a photo mosaic. Quickly searching, I found this:
http://www.aolej.com/mosaic/register.htm

It ranges from lite ($29) to pro ($99).

There may be other suggestions too... but looking for mosaic may provide more accurate findings than montage.

If you have photoshop, you can create a contact sheet which I think is what you want.

File/Automate/Contact Sheet II.

This piece of software does exactly what you want, it's free, and it works well. Slideshows and contact sheets are quite different.

Never had a problem using Andrea mosaic myself... (been about 8 months since I did one.)

You have to build a collection of images to use first, before choosing the jpeg to mosaic, if that helps.

I just downloaded, and am trying the latest version myself, and seems to be running alright for me, its building a mosaic right now.

Do the files have to be any certain size. I tried converting a bunch of RAW photos to Jpeg and using those. It didn't work...

for which software? Also, how many images did you have? I have used full resolution images (8 MP) and it simply reduced the size/quality to use it. It might be faster to reduce the size yourself (using XP Toys) and perform this task. Also, it helps to have lots of images with various brightness/colors.

You need tiny jpgs otherwise it's really slow, but big JPGs work.

Read the Andrea Mosaic documentation re jpg sizes. If DPP doesn't work try another raw convertor, or convert to big JPG then batch to small jpg using irfanview (free).
