IMO go for something like a hitech on over cokin or knockoff. This is an odd one I used a 3 stop soft grad to calm the city lights for a star trail shot (multiple exposures). ![]() June trails by robjdickinson, on Flickr

Hey guys, I posted this in the 9-10 stop ND thread but this thread might be the better choice.
I'll have a Hitech 10 stop plus a Lee 4x4 CPL. I'm going to either be getting a Singh Ray Reverse Gradient GND 3 stop or a Lee soft edge 2 stop GND tomorrow. I could get both, but would rather only get one, which one should I go for? The Singh Ray is more expensive but if it is going to help me out that much more I'd want to go for it. My plan is to use the GND's by themselves but also in conjunction with the 10 stop/CPL. I'll probably be shooting both Oceans (sunsets) and Mountains. Thanks! |

It's been a long while since I've posted anything on the forums, some of its due to weather, but most of it is due to waiting for my new camera and kit to arrive!
So here is the first outing and first shot with the new Nikon D800. ![]() Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-70, Singh Ray 3stop reverse, Lee 3stop hard. Cheers Simon |
