I prefered 100mm because 85 would be to close as a focal lenght to my 50mm 1.4

I'm starting to think that "100mm f2 club" is a private one. Only 4 pages on this thread ?

Imo the 100/2 is an fantastic lens... but it has itīs flaws... it doenst handle shooting towards the sun very well...
![]() BUT imo itīs an great lens. Flare is another of itīs really weak spots... AND THIS IS with an hood attached. ![]() I was thinking... sure itīs great with an archive with good pics... hereīs some bad ones for balance!

Hihi, true
This thread should be protected with another user name and password, where the user name should be the serial number of the lens

It is a very fine lens, but so are the 85/1.8 and the 135/2.
Choose based on focal length you want. Here are some with the 100 f/2, all taken with an XT/350D. By the way, I think it makes an excellent landscape lens. f/2.5 ![]() f/2.2 ![]() f/5.6 ![]()

OK. time for some wide-open shots then? The lens is imo amazingly sharp wideopen (miles ahead the 50s)...
![]() ---------------------------------------------- taken @ 2.8 or somethin ![]() Wide-open. 1.5 meters from cat... you can clearly see that the dof is rasorthin...

One from yesterday. At 100% some purple fringing is visible around the swans head and nech, but it is normal for a lens with f2

Cream of the Crop

Cedar and honeysuckle
So far I'd say it's easily on par with my ex 85 1.8 but slightly better build and maybe less CA wide open. |

Straight off the camera, with the exception of a bit of resizing.
