Does anyone have any experience using either the Nikon SB-12 (F3 compatible) or SB-15 (FG compatible) strobes with the G3? Both strobes meter TTL on their respective bodies.
I strongly suspect that they will not work with the G3 but I want to be sure before I spend almost $200 on a 420EX. |

I tried to use my SB24 speedlight on a Kodak DCS620, from what I read and learned from another forum is that for TTL flash to work correctly, the sensor in the body reads the light that reflects of the film while the shutter is open. The CCD sensor wouldln't have the same reflectance compare to film, the TTL flash wouldn't work correctly. You would have to use it in "A" mode.
I tried my SB24 with the G5 in A mode. It will over expose and you will have to learn to adjust accordingly. I would love to hear from other users who have tried this. |
