Was this taken with the x2 extender? If not, I think you've got the wrong thread dude. ;)

Sure, this was ISO 800 on a 40D (before I sold it). 100% crop included.

Thanks, Ninja.

I wonder how this lens would fare during wedding receptions where lighting conditions are generally challenging.

I am debating between the hand-hold ability, sharper image, low price, and black color of this lens and the versatility of 70-200 2.8L.

Pratman,

I thought you already had a 200 f/2.8. Did you sell it? Seems like I remember that being one of your favorites not too long ago.

You have good memory.

Yes, I sold it back in March to fund 135L. Now, I am yearning to buy it again. I am leaning towards this over 70-200 2.8L.

Any thoughts?

And, Bob, I remember you were the first person I spoke to for advice on the forum when I first started out with this photography thing.

I've finally managed to save enough cash to buy this lens but I wonder when Canon is going to start shipping them again! B&H have not had any in quite awhile now. :(

If you can use flash it should be OK (I know flashes aren't rated above 105mm, but it works). However I am getting a 70-200 2.8L IS for versatility as I think that lens is more than good enough (sharpness wise) for wedding etc. Not as sharp as the 200 2.8L but nice enough.

I had a 70-200 f/2.8 and replaced it with the 85, 135 and 200. Seems like you have almost the same setup. I much prefer the primes over the 70-200, especially after I added the 100-400 to my bag.
