Default Industrial Vapor

Hi, this is my first post here. I thought I would share some of my photos for you to comment on. I do a lot of nighttime, industrial, Infrared and astrophotography along with whatever catches my eye. Hope you enjoy these, a couple are from my archives and a couple are from just last night.

All of my photos are taken with a Canon 300D.
Constructive critisim is always welcome as I am always learning

Hi Protium, my first post too. While I'm certainly not qualified to critique any photographs (I'm fairly new to SLR's), I don't think you need to be a pro to appreciate a good photo. That first is one outstanding!

What type of astrophotography do you do? Prime focus or piggyback? I have a 300D and an old fork mount C-8 and have been wanting to give it a go.

WOW I've driven by things like this with these visions in my head. Have not yet had the chance to shoot this type of stuff. Really great photographs. Thanks for sharing and welcome.

Thank you Steevo, I do mostly prime focus with a 10" newtonian reflector and eye piece projection with my Coronado PST. I also do some planetary imaging using a ToUcam.

Your C-8 would most likely be a more suitable imaging platform then my newt where it is more compact, provided you have a good stable mount. Start off with piggy backing and go from there, it can be a bit of a steep learning curve but it is worth the effort in the long run.

I will post some examples of my images in the nature section a little later.

Hi Protuium Looks like my hometown with its steel mills. I don't always go looking for subjects like this but when I find them my first question is could this be shot or, could I shoot this. Your mills are cool i guess you could and make it interesting too.

Wow I now have four more pics that will beg me to be used for my desktop! I love these shots. #1 is the best though, (I'm a sucker for the light refraction)

I love the 2nd image. I really like how much detail is visible in the nearest silos. Great work!
