Default 1st attempt at HS basketball

Shot some photos for the HS basketball team. This was my first attempt at shooting this sport. Please tell me what you think. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Need help not sure about the photos, noise, and Photoshop cs2.

Thanks

The overall colour balance doesn't look too right on my screen (maybe it's just me), and the noises are pretty bad.

However I think you have captured very nice moments, and the compositions are decent.

My personal favourite is definitely the third one

The white balance is all over the place. If the hall is lit with fluorescent light that's quite understandable. (Search the forums for fluorescent white balance and you'll see what I mean.) But it's not hard to fix in your RAW converter or image editing sofwtare, so I'd say you really should do that.

I'm not an expert but I do agree that you've captured some good moments. My favourite is #5.

#2 and #5 are great. I don't much like the crop (nor the tilted horizon) on #1. In #3, the player blends into the background, and in #4 his face is blocked by another player's hand.

But the parents of the kids in #2 and #5 should be paying you money...

THank you guys. Like I said this is my first attemp to talk basketball pictures. I have not tried RAW yet alittle concerned about it. I think I will go snap a few picture outside today and try RAW. I also have noise ninja but I need to learn how to use it . I do believe that I need a book to learn about raw and noise ninja.

Again thanks
