Not a photography enthusiast, so she doesn't need anything fancy, nor wants it. Fairly basic and easy to use, looking for a good camera to snap shots of friends and events, whatever that would mean, not even sure what to look for or how to evaluate different options.

Looking for one with a large LCD preview screen, one of the thinner rectangle designs, I know $200 is still kind of cheap for this, but I outlined why I'd rather not go up to $300 in the original thread and that hasn't changed.

Ah thank you, checked it out at NewEgg as well, ships for the same price go figure, kinda still wanting to shop around though, any other recommendations or pieces of advice?
