Yes

Actually, it is both. There are many more EOS family cameras than just the Rebel models. The XTi is the third in the Digital Rebel family.

No offense intended, Tareq. The only references I could find mentioned Europe, North America, and Japan. What about China? What about India? Only 40% of the world's population in those two countries... but if you know what these cameras are called in other countries, in the Middle East or elsewhere, then please feel free to share your knowledge.

I would be willing to bet that India and the Middle East follow the European naming system.

Yeah, atleast the Canon India site has the European naming system. Cant find a single Middle East Canon site ??

Oops... sorry I'll rephrase:

You'd think they'd all follow the European naming scheme, so much easier to follow, and this way there is no confusion which model is the oldest, which one suceeds the last one, etc. Japans is probably the most confusing. How do I know X is worth more then N? Atleast with the North America naming they had the decenty to put a i at the end of the XT. Although if I was first looking at that I might think it's a downsized model or something.
