Not realy for this forum I suppose but this is the one I read most.
I want to buy a CF card reader/writer, but I was told by the shop assistant that it was risky writing to one as it can wipe embedded information off the card that is necessary for its opperation. Is this correct or am I safe enough using one?. Any advice appriciated. Regards Tony. |

i've used compact flash cards to download upgrades in firmware, and then loaded the firmware into cameras.
this involves writing to the card. i've never had any problems with imbedded information being wiped off. and any time a card does give you a problem, you should be able to just pop it in the camera and format it. |
