Default Air-to-Air with a Polar Bear (P-51A Mustang)

I got the opportunity to do a little air-to-air shoot over the weekend.
Polar Bear is a rare North American P-51A model Mustang. The shoot was fun but challenging, sitting in the back seat of a WW2 trainer (T-6) with the canopy open there was a lot of buffeting from the wind and some vibrations fron pushing the trainer to keep up with the fighter, not to mention it was around 40 deg. up there. I'm pretty happy with most of the shots I got.

Dante, you are not the only one.

I'd sell both my girls in an instant for that seat. Maybe my wife as well if it helped sweeten the deal.

Great shots! I'm jealous, air to air has to be the coolest.

The first models of the Mustang (Allison engine) had the three blade prop the later P-51D's with the Merlin engine had the four blade prop.

Thank you everyone for your comments. It's a lot different from shooting from the ground! Wind, vibrations, lots of noise, cold and very limited space to move in, oh and add in wearing a helmet. I had tried to set up a lot of the maneuvers but it didn't all work the way I had planed, I've herd some say all you have to do is sit there and shoot...HAHAHAHA yeah right! It's a challenging environment but also a very rewarding.

As of now I don't belong to the ISAP, and I have to save vacation for shows.

They don't get any better than this. Well done Victor. I see a lot of 'D' series P-51's but very seldom the 'A' series.

Love the 51A. I am almost jealous, hmmmm, ok, I am jealous!
I like the vintage PP. I had some cards with plane pictures on them printed in the 1950s that would probably look like that--now.
Does that make me vintage?
