It's called refraction, and you've captured it quite well.

This is a terrific image. The only two things I wasn't 100% loving were the black background and white accent line. Here is my version with the background color one picked from the image and the accent line also selected from the image.

I like the first image better the existing background and border I feel compliments each other very well.

I'd like you to try an experiment. On the original image, squint at it and see how much the white line draws your eyes away from the subject. Now, do the same with my version and see how the complimentary color chosen from the image does not take your eyes away from the glass. It is rare that an accent line in white is best.

yea if anything I think that the second border adds to it. Craig is right. Def doesn't draw your eye away from the image. Cool photo to start with though...
