I prefer #1 Richard simply because there is more detail and interest to it.

thanks lol i was hoping to get a 'deserted' desert shot- but I noticed the rather obvious tyre tracks... hmmm! lol but of a give away that i wasn't riding camel back through the desert! lol thanks for the feedback; I personally preferred the first one but I just thought that I'd check- thanks!

I like the second one, maybe a little editing/cropping to give it some more atmosphere, but a great foundation.

Hello Richard,
One of the inherent dilemmas about photography is that once you click the shutter and you take your eye away from the camera... what you just photographed is right there in front of your eyes. So... to you... it is nothing special. Only time and distance warps the contemptious nature we all have for our own "local" shots. One day what you shot won't be there, it will have changed, become older... only then do you appreciate the fact that you took it. For folks like us who live thousands of miles away from where you clicked that button... all of it is fascinating. For it isn't something that we can look at out of our livingroom window. This in it's simplest form is why POTN is so successful, for it brings other Worlds right into our homes... and all we had to do was turn on our computer and log on. PS: ..and by the way Richard... I got my first SLR on my 12th birthday. At 15 you are most definately never too young.
