Except when it is on loan going to Alaska (two or three trips a year) we take my 400mm f/2.8L IS and a monopod to concerts anymore for the soundboard stuff that is usually sprung at the last second! Also have 1.4 and 2.0 TCs.

On the topic of no pit - I shot Phish last night and there was no pit access - they split the photographers up and half shot from one side of the floor and half from the other. At least there were barricades, but it made for lame photos.

Justin Townes Earle. I had a shoot for a magazine, not my sort of music but a different type and better country music than I am used to hearing (the type that makes my ears bleed)

A local music festival tomorrow. Lots of hipsters and Indie Bands. Not like The Shins-Indie bands. More like living in a van Indie Bands.
Sunday I am shooting fun and it's sort of my first assignment for Rolling Stone.
