Tonight I am shoot Colbchella which is Stephen Colbert's Festival on board the US Intrepid in NYC. This is a TV taping so shooting will be rough as there is no pit and we are shooting from the side o teh stage, not on the stage.

Those are the 4 acts and the show will be aired over 4 parts next week with each band getting a night on the Colbert Report.

The weather report is treacherous for tonight but I think its critical to Comedy Central that it happens so no idea what they will do.

Haha. Each band is doing 3 songs.

I am supposed to do a portrait with Wayne on board the Intrepid but the weather isn't looking good. And I left my flash at home. Grrrr.

Unfortunately no Neil. That was limited to national publications only, and only from the soundboard at that.

Also, no Foo Fighters, Beck. And Metallica or Stevie Wonder will probably get the national publications rule as well.
I'm not worried about not shooting Beck. He's boring. I got to shoot Neil at the Bridge School benefit last year. But the others would have been nice.

Of the Day 1 performers Die Antwoord was the most photogenic. They know how to play it up.

Shot Bone Thugs N Harmony over the weekend at Rock The Bells and it was amazing. Their set was timed to coincide with the sunset perfectly. Really good stage lighting courtesy of mother nature and confused security guards who had no clue when to toss us out of the pit made it one of the more memorable festivals I have covered. The security guards literally threw everyone out after the 4th song/2nd group of shooters but for some reason let me stay for damn near the whole show. I didn't have a production pass or all access, just a regular photo pass. I shot for another 10 minutes after everyone left then put my cameras down and watched the rest of the show from the safety of the sound board. Good times.
