Default Where can I get the owner's manual for the 70-200 f2.8?

Just got this lens but the seller couldn't find the owner's manual. Is it available for download? I couldn't find anything here or on google. Nothing on canon's website as well.

I'm not sure what you need to know-- the operation is quite simple. The only thing that might raise some questions is the AF range limiter, which is simply a switch that allows you to contrain the AF to a certain distance from the camera, narrowing the range it might have to hunt in and marginally increasing focus speed (in some cases) .

Align red dot, twist onto camera mount, select MF or AF, zoom as required, take picture

All the 'manuals I've ever had with a lens just say this in about 10 languages.

seriously though, I don't know of any downloads...

Nothing to know really.

The best technical information can be found on the reputable review sites.

Yeah, I keep all the original boxes, manuals etc that come with my lenses Nice to see them stacked up (and growing) plus I keep all the receipts, warranties etc in them.

I bought a used Canon 70 - 200 IS and was also wondering the same thing regarding a manual. Two questions i had : What is the difference between Stabilizer mode 1 / 2 ? and the difference between the 1.4m and 2.5 m switch. if anyone could explain in laymans terms, it would be appreciated. I take sports photos both indoor and out.

thanks.

From the manual:

3. Switching the Focusing Distance Range
You can set the focusing distance range to 1.4m/4.6ft to infinity or 2.5m/8.2ft to infinity. By setting the suitable focusing distance range, the actual autofocusing time can be shorter.

6. Image Stabilizer Settings
The image stabilizer function can be used in both AF and MF focus modes.

2. Select the stabilizer mode.
-Select MODE 1 for standard photography. MODE 1 corrects all vibrations no matter whether the camera is being held horizontally, vertically, or at an angle.
-To pan a moving subject, select MODE 2. MODE 2 corrects vibrations and shaking only in the direction at right angles to the camera's panning movement.

I hope this helps you out. If you would like to know something else that's in the manual, let me know and I'll type it up for you.
