This is the flame on a torch (the kind used for torchlit processions). Focussing was a bit of a challenge, but I'm pretty happy with this one. I tweaked levels to alter the black point for the background, and boosted the midtones for the torch itself a little. Other than that, I used lens blur on the edge of one bit of the flame, where there were lots of little jaggeds.
