Default Vintage Motorsport

This is about as vintage as it gets for American open-wheel racing.

Ray Harroun's Marmon Wasp from the 1911 Indianapolis 500 was on display at the Chicago Auto Show.

Most of my pictures are informational, and not artistic in any way, but I thought this one turned out well enough to share here.

Just remember, I'm an amateur with a 4MP PowerShot, nothing fancy, no DSLR. Not yet, anyway.

You can see the whole set and get the full-size versions at http://www.carsandracingstuff.com/library/w/wasp.php

Default Re: Vintage Motorsport

i have a few pictures of that when it came to the amelia island concours d'elegance... in 2003!

depends on the event/show for me... if its a huge show, i won't try to be artistic in anyway (unless i happen to in the moment) and only be informal. But if its a smaller show where id see everything in 1-2 hours then yea, i would try to be artistic. It just depends for me (informative/documantary style ages better than artistic [since artistic is more abstract], IMO)
