Default SD to CF adapters?

Hey, I've searched all over google, I found a few things, but can't really find what I'm looking for...

I'm looking for a product that can take my SD 2gb card, and make it into a CF card to fit the Canon Digital Rebel XT ( 350D ).

Please help me out with some brand names, links, whatever else!

Thank you so much,
Swift

I've never heard of such a thing, not would I put it in my camera. Just go out and buy a 2gb CF card. It'll cost you all of $35.

I've seen them advetised. Quite honestly I'd just buy a 2GB CF card from NewEgg for a whopping $26!

Yes, but SD cards are 30% faster than CF cards...And I have 3 SD cards, two of which are 2gb, and the other one is 512mb...

So an adapter would save me money and time, by selling my SD cards and buying CF cards. Instead, I'll just buy an adapter...But I need help.

If you get an adapter, check whether the "CF card" is the same dimensions as a real CF card, and whether the SD card sticks out of the end of it - the door in the XT may not close.

Have Fun,

Same here, have the eagletec ones and they work fine. I've switch to mainly CFs now.

... but would the adaptor allow the SD card to maintain it's throughput speed? - or does the SD card "become" the same speed as a CF?

So that means the speed will drop to the speed af a CF card? So the OP would not gain a speed increase by using his SD cards in the CF adaptor?

I've never tried to measure the speed but subjectively it works nice and quickly, it's certainly no worse than CF!

I bought mine when I got my 30D so I could use the SD cards from my previous camera. I've got larger CF cards than SD now so it rarely gets used unless I really get trigger happy!

It is also useful if I need to take pics at work and process them on my laptop which has a SD reader but no CF.

I'd get one if you have spare SD cards sitting around gathering dust but any new cards I buy are CF. Much more convenient to use and faster to change over when the action is frantic.

You can get fast CF cards too.

Quite honestly I'd sell the SD cards and buy bigger CF cards.

The throughput limitation in the camera isn't the card; it's the camera generally. You'd get most advantage from the faster SD cards downloading from a card reader.

I have one of the ones off ebay from HK, and I have had no problems using my Sandisk Ultra II SD cards in it. Makes using my plethora of SD cards with my Camera a breeze. I don't need to spend any more money than I need to.

I'm so glad I foudn this thread! I have a handful of highspeed 2gb SD cards that were given to me with a broken palm pilot. Now I can use them in my 350D and not have to worry about anythign since my E1505 laptop has an SD reader built into it.
