my powershot g2 + my new canon S820 = wow

Color me impressed.

Just got a Canon S820, and have been playing around with it all night. Holy cow. I am moving up from a base line ink jet (Lexmark Z22) and wasnt really expecting these kind of results. The 4 x 6 photos look like they came from a lab. The edge to edge printing is cool. I have already made a few 8 x 10's, and they are still amazing, even at that size. I was expecting the larger prints to have banding or jaggies, or to be pixelated. I am hard pressed to see anything wrong other than some color differences between print outs and what I see on my monitor.

I cant wait to see how this printer will do with more pixels. I am printing using 1600 x 1200 shots right now, but in the future, everything I take will be at max resolution for the G2. I only used the lower resolution because I wasn't thinking of printing at the time, only viewing on monitors. I have some good shots of the pier at Panama City Beach, taken with a sony 3.3 mega pixel camera, and even they look great printed out at 8 x 10.

Sorry to go on and on, but I did not realize the level of output from today's inkjets. Any sites where I can get more info on printing?
