Default My new flashbracket

I bought some RAM parts and made a new, very flexible, flashbracket.
It looks a bit like the Wimberley macro bracket, but just a bit cheaper.

Here are some pictures:

Here are the RAM parts put together.
Two of the smallest arms (6cm).

On a normal bracket, if you have no tripodcollar.

On the MP-E 65mm I screwed it on the tripod collar, making it very compact and in balance.

At 1:1, the lens is very short.
I can set the flash in almost any direction.

At 3:1

At 5:1 lens is very long but still no problem.

Thank you for sharing this. You have one of the best lightcontrol I've ever seen. What's your diffuser?

Very nice setup you have there. I love the softbox attached. I'm intrigued to ask if it's homemade at all? It gives me an idea to make my own

Could we have a list of parts you bought from RAM? The company has so many components on the website, its hard to find the right pieces.
Thanks.

Here are the part numbers I have used:

2x RAM-B-237 one on both end, for the tripod collar and the off camera cord, it is a 1/4" male threaded ball (standard camera/camcorder screw)

2x RAM-B-201-A the shortest arms

1x RAM-B-230 double ball to connect the arms.

It costed me 90€ here in the Netherlands, they had to import it so it might be cheaper in other country's.
Still not realy wat i call cheap but i love this stuff, wimberley stuff is even more expensive here.

@::Lisa::
I made the softbox out of a cooling bag (with aluminum inside) and some thin white fabric.
I can sew on a machine
You can make a softbox out of almost everything but this one is more durable and flexible than something out of cardboard.
I am using it for a year now.

Good work Edwin - good ideas. I'm lazy, so I'll just buy it from Wimberly when I get some spare cash (not this pay, just outlayed on Capture one Pro hehehe). What diffuser are you using btw, I like the look of it.

will take some pics today if possible though the rugby and FA cup are a major distraction. All I can say at the mo is that it is the most solid set up I have tried - flash creep, what's that?

I'm almost concerned about exactly the opposite- ie you have to undo and tighten too many knobs to change the flash position.
