Default 430 vs 580 external flash.

I will using my camera mostly for taking pictire at social events

like night clubs / mardi gras / private party fucntions....

should i really soend heaps more $$ on the 580

or is it ok to get by with the 430?

im not a real pro but do know more than the average snapper

its important to have very little recycle time between picture si take

will the 430 really do the job

IMHO, the flash isn't something you want to skimp on. It's a lot of money for the 580EX, but if you get the 430 and then decide it's not enough, it's going to be even more to move up to the 580. And at $400 new, it's not exactly the most expensive piece of kit out there.

Aussie Cat, I think you should stick to one thread with your questions about the same subject. I think you'd get a warmer welcome from the group. No disrespect, just trying to help.
