To quote Fred G. Sanford.
Well my day started off last night actually. I decided that Friday I would go out and shoot some. Put both batteries on the charger and went to bed. Got up had a nice breakfast. Made a few phone calls for my "other" job and had to go look at this guys shower. Well I get there and we get to talking. Seems his company makes the carbon fiber bodies for the Indy cars. We start talking about doing some stuff (photos) for him. He wants a nice big 8x10 foot shot for their shop wall. Ok, I am sure that can be done, I don't have a clue as to how but I know it can be done. Just a matter of finding the guy who can print that big. Now I leave him and we have an appointment for me to fix his shower next Tuesday and afterwards, I will come by his shop and we can talk more about the BIG project. So now I am on cloud nine, thinking of how this client will not only turn into a one time good paying job but, maybe a long term source of income. Ok I am ready and all psyched up to go out and shoot some stuff today. I drive up to Crown Hill Cemetary because there is an old War Veterans section with the stones all in perfect order and a flag flying right smack dab in the middle. Also I want a few shots from a hill that is the highest point in Indiana, which is in the cemetary. I get there, get out survey the veterans shot and decide where I will do it from and how I am going to compose it. I go back to the car, grab the camera bag and get out the 50 and the 100-300 in case I want to zoom it. Now here is where the big dummy part comes in.....take one guess where my only 2 batteries are? Yep about 7 miles away at home still sitting on the charger. So I came home at lunch and now I am headed back out. When I return and check this thread, I better see plenty of "You moron" replies, because I deserve that!!!!! |

You did not mention yet whether you remembered the batteries the second time you left the house...
Shall we assume that when you return,. you will have actually gotten any photos? Or what? |

As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon" :P
Seriously, you can't yet levitate those batteries from home to you, but think about a charger with a car cord. One or two hours will get you charged up. Mine has already saved my butt once. Food for thought. Have Fun Rick 8) |

So you went back to get your batteries, took your camera back into the house, got a coke from the fridge, took the batteries from the charger, left and discovered you left your camera on the kitchen table?

Bwhahahahaha Peter, no I left the camera in the car.
CDS No I got the batteries the second time LOL What kind of a moron do you think I am? Anyway, it turned out to be a great afternoon. I got some shots at the cemetary and then went down along the river looking for ducks. I know how you guys love ducks. Well all I saw were Canada Geese. I passed on shooting them. Then as I wondered along I came across a skatepark. DAMN what fun shooting. Got some good shots and a few great ones. As soon as I came home I called the Indystar photo desk and talked with the editor. I described a shot I wanted to send, he said yeah send it over we may want to use it for a filler. Haven't heard back from him as of yet but, that is typical. I have to do some reducing in PS and then I will post some later tonight. Signed, Big Dummy |

KO If I forgot to plug in the charger too, I wouldn't have admitted that, even under oath.
The Star didn't use my shot but, I got an email saying that they were going to hold it and maybe it would still be used this weekend. I hope the use it. I could use the money. |
