i didn't see a thread of the f/4 IS in the lens image archive. if there is already a thread please delete.

Is it true that the f/4 IS is sharper with better color rendition than the 2.8 IS? Does that have to do with the fact the 2.8 IS is like 6 years old?

here's a link to a trip i made to the SF zoo, which was my first real outing (besides tests) with the lens.

like i was telling a fellow the other day i also have a 300L f4 IS which is a fine lens. i believe the 70-200L f4 IS nips it in IQ tho and the difference becomes obvious once you add a 1.4 TC.

Ed... kudos. Absolutely wonderful shots. So incredibly sharp, too. They give my 100mm macro a run for its money!

Well I have a new 70-200 f/4 IS and NONE of my pics are anywhere near as sharp as those on my 400D (XTi)...WTF!

Maybe I got a very bad copy? Maybe I take crap pics or maybe I need a better camera or maybe all three?
