Default Over-seas travel with camera gear

Just wondering what type of bag/pack folks use when travelling. I'm heading to Scotland, and realize it's a pretty safe place, but I don't want to carry my typical gear bag and "stick out" like a tourist. Any suggestions? I've been looking at the LowePro backpacks, but are there any other alternatives? Thanks.
